A Way to Link Arms

In the early days of World Impact, breaking in to new communities meant parachuting a missionary team into a neighborhood or city to cultivate ministry from the ground up. Today, as World Impact seeks to expand into the top 100 most under-resourced communities, developing missional partnerships is the key to the advancement of the Kingdom in new communities.

As World Impact expands into Houston, Texas, World Impact Associate Bryant Lee’s oversight of a new Urban Church Association (UCA) is vital. The UCA is a strategic way to bring like-minded pastors and leaders from various sizes and types of churches and ministries together. It is a way to link arms with each other for encouragement, prayer, and the sharing of ideas and resources. Some UCAs do outreaches, retreats, block parties, and unity services together. The UCA is also a place urban pastors are introduced to the ministry and resources of World Impact.

These pastors are a valuable link to the communities, churches, and pastors who need resourcing the most. Urban Church Associations are a great example of missional partnerships in that trust is transferable. Pastors in the UCA know World Impact staff’s heart for the Lord and urban missions. In just a matter of months, through the work of World Impact Associate Bryant Lee, partnerships have been developed and the mission of World Impact has been expanded into Houston.

In the months ahead, a new World Impact Associate will be added from the growing Houston UCA. His primary objective will be to launch our first satellite campus of The Urban Ministry Institute (TUMI) in Houston. Please pray for these pastors and opportunities for partnerships in Houston and beyond.
