Christmas in the Country 2016

Even as the clouds filled the sky and a little mist was in the air, we knew there was plenty of hot chocolate to keep everyone warm, Christmas cookies to decorate, and crafts to create! Dozens of families were looking forward to this day and the all the Christmas activities!

The past couple of years, families from the Christ the Victor churches of the Midwest region have gathered together to celebrate Christmas in the Country at Morning Star Ranch. This special weekend has quickly become a tradition for the families and friends to enjoy together. The lounge in the main lodge has proven to be the center of the excitement; families wait to have their photo taken, friends gather over snacks and games, and people enjoy getting to visit and catch up with each other! Laughter and conversation fill the room. Meanwhile, others head out to take a hayride around the Ranch, join in on a fun game, or see what Christmas crafts are available to make for a new decoration or gift.

Near the end of the day we announce: “Time to head to the dining room!” A group of great volunteers helped us prepare and serve a traditional  Christmas dinner! This was followed by a time of singing Christmas carols, an encouraging message focused on the meaning of the season, and a giving of gifts to all who have come! What a meaningful way to keep hearts looking and listening to that passage in Galatians 4: “When the set time had come, God sent His Son…”

As one of the pastors from Wichita said, “This is just wonderful… thank you so much, and especially to your team of volunteers. We are feeling very loved and special already! What a wonderful gift to all our CTV folks, and their little ones this Christmas Season.”
