Connelly February Prayer Letter

February 1, 2017

Dear Friends and Family,

My class of twelve third graders is a group of learners with diverse learning styles and family backgrounds. I would like to introduce you to four of my students, pictured here with me and our student teacher, Jillian Wilhelm. Jillian has returned to her university and her last semester of college. Please pray for God to open doors for her as she looks for a job—perhaps a missionary teaching job!

On the front row, at left, is Cailah. She loves to sing gospel songs and is from a musical family. Her mother directs a choir at church, and her brother plays an instrument at his high school. Cailah is young for third grade, only seven. Please pray that she grows in her love for Jesus, and lives a life of caring for others as well as herself.

Gabriella (front row, at right) is a positive leader in the school. Gabby has words of encouragement for anyone who is feeling low. Her godly character shines through her actions and words. I love the fact that I have taught three of her older sisters when they were in third grade!

Jaslene (top row, at left) is a creative child who loves to paint, draw, and make cards. She has one brother, Isaiah, who is in second grade. Please pray that she comes to place her faith in Jesus as her Lord and Savior.

Brielle (top row, at right) is a social child who loves people. She is generous and enjoys joking with others. Her talents are in writing and reading. Please pray for her to deepen in her faith in the Lord Jesus as her Savior.

Please pray for peace between the girls and the boys in my classroom and for a spirit of calmness to come upon us. As we approach the Easter season, we are studying the life and work of Jesus Christ. The week approaching the Passover will be crucial as I provide opportunities for these precious children to pray with me, one-on-one, if they want to trust Jesus to be their own, personal Savior from sin.

Love in Christ,

Rachel
