Froman October Prayer Letter

Dear Family and Friends,

Autumn is here and we are in full swing at Los Angeles Christian School (LACS)! This year my fifth grade class has three new students, so we have been enjoying getting to know them and building new relationships as a class. I think it is very good for our small, close knit classes to get new students added in throughout the years. I know it can be hard for the new students though, coming into a class that is full of students who have been together since kindergarten, who have strong friendships already in place. The students in our classes become more like brothers and sisters as the years go by, which I love, but also can make it hard for new students to jump into. I have been praying for my class to be open, kind, and accepting of the new friends joining us this year.

One of my new students, Daniel, went through the process of getting accepted to LACS last spring, and at that time was recommended to come into our school in 4th grade, repeating a year in order to catch up to our school’s academic standards and expectations. His family was open to the idea, but really wanted Daniel to be in fifth grade. They made a plan with the administrator to work with him all summer and have him retested before school began, with the hopes that he would be able to join fifth grade. At the end of the summer I retested Daniel, and he did really well on his test. He worked hard over the summer, improving enough to join our fifth grade class! He and his mom were so excited, and it was fun to be the bearer of such great news! Seeing his hard work and determination to reach a goal showed us that he is the exact student we want at LACS.

Can you please pray with me for Daniel, and the other new students in my class? It is a big change coming from a Los Angeles public school to LACS. We have very high standards and expectation of our students, and they usually need an adjustment period. Can you pray that they will quickly feel confident and adjust to our school culture? And pray for the whole fifth grade class to have a great school year!

Thank you for your continued prayer and financial support. I am blessed to have you all on my team!

Sending lots of love from Los Angeles,

Jessica
