Kingdom Life Together

As Samuel Abbot addressed his “Summit,” a gathering of multiple congregations over which he provides leadership, he said about World Impact, “They are doing what I want to do, so it only makes sense to do it together.”

Apostle Abbot and Pastor Starr Williams of Kingdom Life Church learned of World Impact in Topeka when their church member Tshlaine Webster began taking the Capstone Curriculum from The Urban Ministry Institute (TUMI) satellite campus in 2012. Tshlaine’s local church took an interest in her theological education and Apostle Abbott and Pastor Starr have supported her along the way.

Tshlaine was the connector between her local church and the work of World Impact in her city which led to new TUMI students and interest in a potential, future TUMI satellite at Kingdom Life. At the recent Topeka Evangel School of Urban Church Planting, Apostle Abbott made time to lead a devotion during the same time he was preaching a revival. Pastor Starr served as one of our church plant team coaches, a tremendous investment into these men and women that will continue Kingdom work in the city of Topeka.

In an effort to continue this great partnership, Kingdom Life has generously offered to host both Win the City!, the annual dinner and recognition of all our missional partnerships in Topeka, as well as the TUMI graduation in February 2017. Their own church member Tshlaine will graduate, having completed all sixteen modules of TUMI’s Capstone Curriculum.

When reflecting on partners like Kingdom Life Church, we would use Apostle Abbott’s words and say, “Kingdom Life is what we want to do, so it makes sense to do it together.”
