Spotlight on Shaun Estrada

“This retreat was a life changer for me. Chains were broken and my burdens released to the Lord.” –Dallas retreat attendee

As our regional retreats continue to expand, our indigenous leaders are taking the baton and running farther and faster than we could have imagined. Shaun Estrada serves as the Assistant to the Director in our Dallas ministry, but her gifts of administration are overshadowed by her Spirit-led gifts of proclaiming God’s Word and ministering to women. That is when she comes alive!

Through Shaun’s leadership, our Dallas ministry was able to offer our first ever women’s retreat this past spring. Eighty-four women from nine partner churches and ministries attended the event. One sister reported, “This was my first retreat I have ever attended.”

Shaun not only ran with the resources provided by World Impact and The Urban Ministry Institute, but she also created a team of indigenous leaders who helped her to facilitate the weekend. She also taught two of the main sessions on the theme RELEASED: Empowered to Live Free. Through her bold sharing of how God had released and empowered her, another attendee said, “Sister Shaun encouraged me to stay strong in the Lord and to wait on His calling.”

We are blessed to have such a gifted administrator and are equally blessed that she is a passionate and gifted communicator. God used her to encourage, equip, and empower the women who attended the retreat to walk in the freedom they have in Christ and leave their broken chains behind.
