God’s Word says our Lord has “chosen those who are poor in the world to be rich in faith and heirs of the kingdom” (James 2:5).
And the more we read Scripture, the more we discover a biblical mandate to reach out to those stricken by poverty in our cities. Which is why with your help, World Impact is pressing forward with the strategic priority of urban church planting.
We are working with church planters like Cuco and Robyn from San Diego to bring lasting transformation by:
- Reaching children and young people through Bible clubs and camps
- Caring for single-parent families who are struggling to make ends meet
- Distributing emergency food and clothing to those most in need
- Counseling broken families toward restoration and healing
- Ultimately empowering indigenous leaders to lead
God is already at work through Cuco and Robyn’s ministry – and their neighborhood is ripe for harvest. In fact, in recent months their church’s Sunday school has doubled in number!
“Please pray for us,” says Robyn. “We long to see continued growth in our new church community – both in numbers and in the depth of our relationships with Jesus and each other.”
Robyn and Cuco are just two of the dozens of pioneer church planters working to bring the hope of the Gospel into the city… and there is plenty more to come!
