During the month of January, The Oaks hosted a winter teen retreat of over 350 junior and senior high students. They came from diverse ethnic backgrounds, skin colors, and languages.
When I started corresponding with Dan over five years ago, I had no idea the trajectory of my entire ministry would change.
I quickly discovered that jail is a place you surrender control over where you can go, who you can talk to, when you can offer a Bible study, and how much time you can spend with inmates.

One of the most important times for our men to get refreshed and connected to fellow believers is at our men’s retreats. Last fall our theme was Stronger Together.
There are moments when we step into sacred spaces that have been prepared by God for us and we are in awe of the depth of love we find.
Though I don’t have a permanent class to teach, these students make up the “class” I see this year. Their grades range from kindergarten to seventh grade.
I hope that you each had a special Thanksgiving this year. While reflecting over Thanksgiving break I remembered you all and expressed to those at the table how grateful I am for your support and prayers.
