Recently, we held our Wichita Women’s Retreat at Morning Star Ranch. I was honored to direct this retreat with the help of our retreat team. We had 160 women attend from our local urban churches in Wichita as well as churches from Topeka, Kansas City and St. Louis! These women come from all walks of life. Some are leaders in their churches and communities. Some are living at the Union Rescue Mission. Some have recently overcome addiction. Some have spouses in prison. Despite their unique backgrounds, these women came together under the unity as sisters in Christ.
Our theme was FIERCE: Women of the Word. We focused on how the Word of God equips us for the spiritual battle we face on a daily basis. I was a part of a team that developed a resource for this retreat that includes a “40 Day in-the-Word Challenge” which has daily Scripture readings, meditations and prayers. And it is now available on Amazon if you want to check it out! Already, women are tagging each other on Facebook asking them to join the 40 day challenge! This was our heart's desire: that women fall in love with God's Word. We even had some ladies from a church in Kansas City ask about using our resource for a church conference!
