The Urban Ministry Institute (TUMI) provides the springboard for all ministry at World Impact San Diego. It is here that local leaders become mature followers of Jesus and get the training needed to lead ministries and churches. The Ramirez Family is a perfect example of this.
Over five years ago, the Lord redirected the Ramirez family’s entire future. Ignacio used to be a Jehovah’s Witness but was welcomed into the true family of God through his faith in Jesus Christ. His entire family followed in his footsteps and became followers of Jesus. After years of JW teaching, where were they to find solid formal Bible teaching? The answer for Ramirez family was TUMI.
They joined a small church and began taking TUMI classes in San Diego. Ignacio, Micaela and their two high school daughters began soaking in the materials. The adjustment to the teaching was hardest for Micaela. Her family will testify that she actually learned to read and write while taking TUMI classes! A little while into the training, they opened their home up for the classes, which started to meet right in their living room.
The whole family was baptized recently in the ocean off the Baja coast. What a celebration it was! They are on their last module and look forward to graduating in the near future. The family is praying about starting a Bible study in their home and are asking the Lord what ministry He would like them to start now that they have been thoroughly equipped in the World of God. The Lord has used TUMI to transform and redirect this precious family’s future. Praise Him!
