A Different Ministry Approach

We continue to move and work toward a new normal as we do our physical ministry here in the city. The spiritual message and programs remain the same. I am reminded of Hebrews 13:8, “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.” As we continue to introduce the five ministry programs to help empower urban leaders and partner with local churches to reach their cities with the Gospel, we have to approach ministering in different ways.

We praise the Lord for the many methods and ways of communicating by technology. We had never heard of Zoom until the Covid-19 virus started and shelter-in-place was issued in our city. Our first response was, “We are too old to learn a new method of communicating, it’s difficult enough returning phone calls and emails, and now we have to learn this new technology?” With the Lord’s help, we are learning and embracing this new way of communication. We acknowledge that nothing will ever replace meeting face-to-face, but we know this is only for this season of time. Lord willing, we will be able to meet with people face-to-face again soon.

World Impact has five goals to help transform communities through the local church. They are Prison Ministry, Trauma Healing, Urban Church Planting, Retreats, and Church-Based Seminary.

One of the programs which has truly been a highlight for us is the Women’s and Men’s Retreats. Retreats provide a place of escape and solitude for the men and women coming from a busy and fast-paced city location. Escaping to a retreat setting allows them to get away from the every-day demands and life expectations our world places on them. Retreats also provide them with a Christ-centered environment, allowing them to bond with other believers and get poured into by the teaching and worship time they experience. It is a time of renewal, refreshing, and refocusing.

Please pray for the upcoming retreats, pray for wisdom and direction as we plan these retreats for the upcoming year. It will be interesting to see how the Lord is going to work this out.

Thank you so much for your prayers and for your financial support you have given us. Your help has made it possible for us to continue representing you in the city as we do the Lord’s Kingdom work for His harvest. We appreciate the sacrifices you make on our behalf. Thank you.
