Busenitz August Prayer Letter

Dear Family and Friends,

A lot has changed in the past three months and our ministry was not exempt. Due to COVID-19, we had to cancel many of our in-person trainings and events. One of the most difficult things for me was having to cancel both our English and Spanish-speaking women’s retreats. I know how much the women look forward to these events all year long, and so it was heartbreaking to cancel.

Despite the challenges we are facing, we continue to march forward in our mission to train leaders for ministry. The pandemic has forced us to become more creative and innovative.

We are in the process of putting all of our programs in an online format. This will allow all of our five programs (TUMI classes, Retreats, Trauma Healing, Church Plant School, and Prison Ministry) to be facilitated online or a combination of online and in-person.

While we are in the process of developing this system, I have found new ways to encourage our retreat women during this time of social distancing. Two years ago we created Fierce Women of the Word, which contained 40 devotionals. This past month, I was able to put them online in an email series format. Now, women can sign up through our retreat Facebook page and get the devotionals emailed straight to their inbox. We did them in Spanish and English. The other day, I reached out to a pastor in another country who we have done ministry with and sent him the link to the email devotionals for Spanish speakers. He was thrilled and said the women in his church would love to sign up!

If you would like to sign up for these devotionals (or know someone who would) here are the links:

We praise God that He is faithful even in the midst of chaos. We praise God that despite all of the fear and cancellations of the pandemic, God is birthing something new in our ministry.

Thank you for continuing to partner with us. We are so grateful for your prayers and support.

In Christ,

Daren, Tina, Jackson, Justus, and Caden Busenitz
