Elam October Prayer Letter

October 1, 2016

Dear Friends,

As I look back on the past year, this summer is one I will remember as a summer of provision. The Lord blessed us with six volunteer groups that came alongside us to help accomplish our goals. For the first time our Church plant (New Found Life Bible Church) hosted an eight-week Bible Camp. The ministry we partnered, Community Enrichment Ministry, was run by several college students from the church. The purpose was twofold. The first, was to provide an option for kids during their summer break to be in a Church setting. The second, was to empower our college students in the area of Christian leadership.

During the summer, Pastor Gray hosted two pool parties at his house for the kids who were participating in the Community Enrichment ministry. For most of the kids, these were the highlights of their summer because it gave them an opportunity to leave their setting, even if it was for only four hours.

A major highlight was sending twenty-five youth to Summer Camp at Stoney Creek Ranch in the Houston, Texas, area. We were able to have a celebration ending time of the summer on the second Sunday of August. We invited the campers and their parents to come and hear from each child of their experience at Bible and Summer camp. The church was packed but the icing on this cake was when some of these young people shared their experience about accepting Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior, and they were able to explain it fully. What a joy that was to us.

We continue to celebrate the movement of the Holy Spirit and the blessings of this past summer. Please pray for us as we follow up with all those the Lord has brought into our presence, that we may be a light to them in such a dark world.

Thank you for your prayers and support you have given us. We are able to dedicate one hundred percent of our time to ministry because of your faithfulness.

In Christ,

Jim and Becky Elam
