Expansion to Indianapolis

Jordan King, a World Impact ministry developer, is expanding the ministry’s reach by developing a World Impact presence and building relationships in Indianapolis, Indiana.

In a city where 1 in 5 individuals are in poverty, hearts are being prepared for the Gospel, and local ministry leaders are doing Kingdom work in their neighborhoods. Recognizing the opportunity to empower these leaders, the King family followed God’s calling to root themselves in this new community.

“World Impact has had very little connection to the Indiana/Ohio area; however most of the cities in the area are struggling economically and have poverty rates in the high 20s and 30s,” said King.

King is already coordinating with local urban pastors to assist in planting churches this summer.  He has also begun networking with Spanish-speaking churches that have “been searching for affordable seminary and church plant training.”

The King family transitioned from their previous home in Wichita, Kansas, to Indianapolis at the end of May. This move was not without difficulties; one being locating a home before moving.

However, while visiting Indianapolis in mid-April, a house went up on the market. There were multiple offers on the home, but the homeowner said that God told her that the house was supposed to be the King’s.

Jordan King first became involved with World Impact as a teenager working for Harmony Heart Camp. Eventually, he became a full-time staff member in 2011. After serving in St. Louis as a church planter and disciplining young men, he became the program director for Morning Star Ranch before transitioning to Wichita.

The Kings have asked for prayers regarding their transition and “for more opportunities to encourage, equip, and resource local pastors and ministry leaders who are serving in the hardest communities in our country.”
