We Represent the Kingdom

Surely you have all followed the protests against police brutality in the wake of the deaths of George Floyd and others. As various camps assume positions opposite one another, we wonder what God has in store for our nation, reeling from the protests, the COVID-19 pandemic, and its crushing economic aftermath.

Remarkably, the Gospel continues to be proclaimed in these at-risk communities. From one vantage point, planting new churches may appear to be irrelevant during such difficult moments. However, planting healthy churches in communities of poverty is God’s strategy to reveal His Kingdom righteousness. Why? The Gospel affirms that every human being regardless of race, station, background, or position is worthy of dignity and love. As those created in the image of God, every man, woman, boy, and girl deserves to be protected, cared for, and treasured. Each person’s life is priceless, and each one deserves to hear the Good News in a way they can both understand and embrace. Truly, every simple church plant that demonstrates the Gospel of Christ among the broken legitimately reveals the hope of the Already/Not Yet Kingdom of Christ, our Lord.

This is why we are committed to redoubling our efforts to equip church planters online! The constraints of social distancing need not overwhelm our ministry. Every healthy church plant can, through God’s grace, become a virtual outpost of the Kingdom showing God’s love to families, friends, neighbors. We are placing all our World Impact programs online, including our Evangel Dean School. We intend to equip dozens of new partners to plant churches and thus multiply thousands of lay Gospel workers to minister in these neighborhoods. We will host our first completely online Dean School this fall.

Pray for us as we build out and design our own online resource, while creating a digital infrastructure to deliver this training. Pray for anointing and clarity, for funds and wisdom, and for boldness and aggression as we create this resource. Above all, pray that God will bless those who continue to live out the Gospel in these neighborhoods, proclaiming Christ’s victory, even at times like this.

Your prayers and gifts underwrite our efforts, and your friendship encourages our hearts. May God richly bless us all as we collaborate together to see Jesus proclaimed as Lord at this critical hour.
