Morning Star Ranch
Morning Star Ranch (MSR) Camp & Retreat Center has been referred to as a place “in the middle of Nowhere, Kansas,” but that is one of its many charms. Nestled in the heart of the Flint Hills on the Cottonwood River, this 560 acre Camp & Retreat Center serves as a place that is different from the city you left behind, yet somehow still like home. Annually, MSR hosts over 1,200 people as campers and guests while serving over 4,500 meals! With 75% of the events at MSR being urban ministry related, they work hard to serve the overall mission of World Impact.
MSR is proud to have a full calendar of events that directly serve urban ministry across the Midwest Region. Weekends are hosted in both English and Spanish for the Midwest Men’s Conference each fall and also each spring for the Midwest Women’s Retreat. The summers are bustling with laughter from students involved in local urban churches who attend two to three weeks of summer camp. Their families all join one weekend for Family Camp as well. In the winter, MSR is cozy and inviting for Christmas in the Country with hayrides and family photo booths for urban churches. Scattered throughout the year are church leadership retreats, volunteer teams, Urban Church Association gatherings and so much more.
MSR has lodging accommodations for groups as small as 25 in the main lodge and as large as 130 in rustic cabins. The newly finished dining/meeting hall is perfect for a small group meeting or can be a great place to host a conference. MSR staff provides homemade meals from their professional kitchen. The courtyard overlooking a children’s playground is a great hangout. Active, outdoorsy visitors can enjoy canoeing, archery, sand volleyball, tennis, basketball, low-ropes course, ping-pong, billiards, art studio, human foosball, gaga ball, box hockey and carpet ball. There is also a gorgeous saltwater swimming pool for cooling off on hot summer days, and it wouldn’t be camp without a fire pit and s’mores!
Men's and Women's Conferences
MSR proudly hosts SIAFU Men’s and Women’s Conferences. Urban men and women from different cities and backgrounds come together to worship God, fellowship with one another and deepen their relationships with Christ.
