During your 2-day training, your church plant team will be guided by an Evangel Coach as your team works through team exercises toward developing your one-year strategic plan.
Don’t think of this as a “done-for-you” coaching opportunity. Rather, view your Coach as your mentor, pointing you first to Jesus, then to the principles covered in the training, and offering suggestions as you and your team need them.
A church plant team working on their strategy
The goal of the Evangel School is to assist you and your team in creating a one-year strategic plan toward fulfilling the call of God on your team to plant the church He has birthed in your heart.
Your team will work through the P.L.A.N.T. phases of Prepare, Launch, Assemble, Nurture, and Transition. All your work will culminate in a Charter document that outlines your strategic plan and will be used as a coaching document.
Your Evangel Field Coach will utilize your Charter as a guide in coaching sessions to review your progress, celebrate victories, address challenges, and suggest necessary course adjustments along the way.
A church plant coaching session
After the school, your team will be assigned an Evangel Field Coach who will meet with you at least quarterly.
Your Coach will be available to you as your team executes the strategy developed at the Evangel School. When your plans are interrupted by the challenges of planting, your coach will be a great resource for you as you regroup.
Your church will also be an approved World Impact partner with the ability to host other applicable World Impact programs to serve your congregation and community.
These are great events to meet World Impact staff and other local urban ministry leaders while learning more about our urban church plant school.

This blog post is an excerpt from World Impact’s Church PLANT Manual used in our Evangel School of Urban Church Plant schools.

Our church plant team has a calling to plant a church among the poor.
How does your training specifically help us engage that target community?
Our training is based on church planting principles that are biblical, timeless, and cross all cultures. This includes the culture of the poor.
Our team and coaches have countless years of experience in planting, coaching, and living in communities of poverty.
We are not a funding missions organization.
Our focus is to bring church plant teams through a rigorous 2-day strategic planning process that culminates in an Evangel Charter (1-year plan of action).
We provide an Evangel Dean Coach during the 2-day Evangel School strategic planning time and an Evangel Field Coach for 1-year upon Chartering church plant teams.
We provide our Evangel Coaches at no cost for the church plant team.
The only requirement is to minimally meet with your Evangel Field Coach once a quarter for a review and next steps on your 1-year strategic plan.
We call this Prepare – Work – Review (PWR). We know what it is like to plant a church in an urban poor context and want you to focus on the task.
For example, women in ministry.
