World Impact Associate Victor Hercules

What do you do?

I pastor a Spanish Christ the Victor Church at the Lansing Correctional facility; I am a church planter who started the Church Without Walls, which serves severe and persistent mentally ill and their families and partners with housing facilities for this population.

Tell us about your neighborhood.

I live in an underserved community in central Topeka.  It is high in crime and prostitution and it is surrounded by the mentally ill and those addicted to drugs and alcohol.

How has being an Associate helped in your church planting efforts?

Being an Associate with World Impact allows me to serving at Lansing, and to mobilize a new team to start “The Healing Power CTV,” a Church Without Walls. It will launch this month and will be commissioned by Central Park Christian Church in November.

What is the value of being a part of the World Impact Associate program?

The support and access to resources I get from World Impact staff helps me accomplish The Great Commission.

What has been an experience/story that you look back on to keep you going on the tough days?

What gets me going is the fact that I recognize that I am on mission and I am not alone. I wanted to do prison ministry and God made it happen. I wanted to start a church and did not have a clue how God was going to provide, but He did. All I have done is to seek first His Kingdom and He has followed through on His promises. With the backing of World Impact I feel well equipped and ready to do my part that He has called me to.
