Impacting Families

So much is happening in Fresno. God is at work and we are excited to see how He is moving!

Cross City Church partnered with us to repair bikes in our community. The team set a new record repairing 71 bikes! With all the activity, it can be hard to see the real goal of this time which is the gift of meeting new families, catching up with others, playing basketball with the young guys, just being with our neighbors. While the work went on, one woman named Diane sat and watched her six children play. We have known Diane and her family for at least five years. During this time, she has struggled with addiction issues, housing stability, and most recently she moved from a home after a drive-by shooting threatened her family.

Her eyes were tired, yet hopeful that she would be able to find a stable place for her family. I asked her about considering a program. She asked some questions and we moved on to lunch. A few days later she called to see about visiting a program. Would you join us in praying that she sees God’s care for her and her children and will be ready to respond? Pray that we will find the right place for her to rebuild and experience a loving, nurturing family.

We are halfway through the Work Life pilot program at Sonshine Thrift Store for survivors of trafficking. We are very encouraged by the life-changing opportunity this has been for everyone. Our volunteers are encouraged by the hard work they see from the women participating. One of the women, Hannah, will be transitioning back home in the coming weeks so she can attend college near her family. Join us in praying that she will quickly find the Christian community she needs to continue to heal and accomplish the goals God has given her.

As you can see so much is happening. God is at work in the city changing lives!
