In June, we were blessed to be invited to participate in our West Region’s Evangel School of Urban Church Planting. It was held at The Oaks, our camp and conference center. We were among 13 coaches who worked alongside ten urban church plant teams encouraging, empowering, and equipping all who have responded to God with open hearts to take our cities for Christ through the local church!
Dynamic devotionals and teaching were poured out over our teams as they worked deeply, with the Holy Spirit, to finish the Evangel learning process. All received clear theological vision and chose sound, culturally sensitive models and expressions for their church. They applied biblical wisdom in order to effectively evangelize, equip, and empower their unreached community to respond to the love of Christ, and take their place in representing His Kingdom where they live and work. As coaches, it was an honor to see and be part of this remarkable Spirit-led occasion and to know it will be taken into our cities to advance God’s kingdom!
For more than 40 years, World Impact has been dedicated to honoring and glorifying God and delighting in Him among the unchurched urban poor by knowing Him and making Him known. We are convinced that God Almighty desires to empower the urban poor to advance God’s Kingdom in every city in America and beyond. We believe that the church’s proclamation and demonstration of the gospel is at the heart of God’s mission and we stand in the obedience and love of God to bring that forth through the power of the Great Commission!
Let’s pray together and ask for God’s hand of favor over all the teams who completed Evangel. Pray that they continue to serve God with pure hearts and noble purpose. Pray that God’s skillful resources and strategic investments that have been shared would impact communities from generation to generation (Phil 4:8-9; Acts 1:8).
