The Inheritance of the City

Dear Family and Friends,

I am so excited to share with you the great things God is doing in the city. We often pray for the Kingdom of God, “Your kingdom come. Your will be done, On earth as [it is] in heaven.” (Matthew 6:10) and I know that our prayers are being answered.

Here in Dallas, we are seeing many men and women of God in the hardest neighborhoods pursue the vision God has given them to change their community. When I sit with them to find out ways World Impact can serve them, I hear first-hand the daily challenges they face.

Many of the challenges urban leaders face are the same battles we confront every day: trying to stay faithful, trying to use every minute of the day, trying to clearly hear the voice of God through the Bible and prayer. These precious leaders are also facing the challenges of the urban city. These areas continue to be a magnet for the oppressed, the broken, and the poor. Yet these leaders call these places their own inheritance just like Abraham.

“By faith Abraham obeyed when he was called to go out to the place which he would receive as an inheritance. And he went out, not knowing where he was going. By faith he dwelt in the land of promise as [in] a foreign country, dwelling in tents with Isaac and Jacob, the heirs with him of the same promise; for he waited for the city which has foundations, whose builder and maker [is] God.” Hebrews 11:8-10

By faith these urban leaders are called to a land of promise in the city. They consider the toughest neighborhoods with tremendous challenges an inheritance from God. Praise the Lord, God has not forgotten any part of the city and He has a plan to reach every person in the world. Would you join me in praying for each urban leader called to the city? Thank you and I pray by faith you will pursue your promised inheritance.

For His Glory,

David Estrada, Dallas City Director
