A Van and a Vision

When World Impact Associate Victor Hercules tells the story of his vivid dream from the Lord and how it came into reality, we stand in awe of the Lord’s direction in our lives.

Originally from El Salvador, Victor became a part of the World Impact network through our Topeka site of The Urban Ministry Institute (TUMI). It was in these classes that God’s vision for him began to emerge as Victor prepared himself spiritually, theologically, and biblically to lead God’s people, especially those Spanish-speaking brothers behind prison walls.

This passion all began with a vivid dream from the Lord in which he was driving a van with the Christ the Victor (CTV) logo on the side. At that point in time, Victor did not yet know about the CTV Church Planting Movement. With time, the vision became clearer as the Lord continued to confirm this direction. As a volunteer at Lansing Correctional Facility, Victor met a group of Spanish-speaking men who were unable to participate in church services because they were all in English. God urged Victor’s heart and prepared a way for him to begin a church service for these men in their heart language!

A fellow Christ the Victor pastor and a few World Impact staff were able to participate in this church service in the prison with Victor and his pastor recently. It was immediately evident that God has appointed Victor to pastor these men as they faithfully gather together each week to sing praises to the Lord, listen to the Word of God preached in Spanish, spend time in prayer, and take communion together. Victor’s dedication and obedience to God’s clear call is having a profound impact on these Spanish-speaking men as well as many others he comes in contact with!
